HUMMINGBIRDS ON A MISSION FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS
Graphics, illustrations, and shaping of the game kit and its elements.
The Children's Rights Workshop for ages 4 to 6 invites young children to a unique experience through which they learn about children's rights in a poetic, artistic, and playful way. The workshop begins with a reading of the story "Kawi the Hummingbird in the Land of Children's Rights," accompanied by a song created by the academy, which poetically introduces children's rights. The children will then express themselves artistically using a game, also developed by the academy, and share their feelings and visions of children's rights, such as the right to health, the right to go to school, the right to express themselves, etc. Using modeling clay, the children will create shared works about children's rights, which they can then present to various audiences.
This workshop is an opportunity for young children to discover their rights, to express themselves through a collective artistic work and to take action by sharing their experience with other children and adults in their school, family or even community circle. It supports children in their first steps on the path to citizenship. It values their ideas and skills and allows them to become aware from a young age of their ability to put their qualities to the service of children's rights.
The game kit created in collaboration with Cécile Jeannin for her association “Académie Internationale Droits de l'Enfant” AIDDE.
